ABOUT

Travel light, live the light, spread the light, be the light

Hello! My name is Claire and I'm a victim of the blog world. I started this blog for travel, so people at home could read about the aftermath of my inability to stay in one place for an extended amount of time. From there freebirdclaire.blogspot.com has turned into my rants and raves about love, life, friends, fashion, snowboarding and the list goes on.
As you read you will find that I have an aggressive addiction to change. I blame my youth for that, a type of burden that is a blessing. At a young age my parents began their journey of own adventures and soul searching, as a result I found myself living all over the western part of America. Small Siletz, Oregon offered space, horses and beauty, on the flip side Huntington Beach, CA offered speed, excitement and the beach. The in-betweens were too much of a blur to give adjectives to. My parents were a happily married Buddhist and agnostic, but awkwardly spawn of strong Catholics, so holidays were interesting to say the least. I changed schools approximately 8 times over my delicate years elementary school, junior high and high school. U-hauls and airplanes were a vivid part of life and eventually I stopped resenting them and started to love them, which lead me to live a life of chasing adventure with a side of chaos.
Today, at 24 years old I claim Portland, Oregon to be my home. It was a rough journey to do so, call somewhere home, but I couldn't be happier here. Located in the beautiful Northwest of America, I fall in love over and over again with this hidden gem on a daily basis:: PDX ♥ I will graduate from Portland State University this summer with a Bachelors of Social Science and minor in Biology. With the shiny piece of paper, I plan to go to nursing school. I love people and can't wait to have a job in the industry of people. Ultimately I would love to find myself in countries where medical attention is a luxury and not only heal physically but emotionally and receiving the same in the process.

..but not before I squeeze in a bit more travel time :)
